HTC Touch Cruise with Footprints officially announced

Presented in Germany as O2 Xda Guide, the new HTC Touch Cruise is now officially announced for the rest of the world too.

Yeah, you read well: HTC Touch Cruise – this is the name of HTC’s latest device, although there’s already a Touch Cruise, launched by the Taiwanese company about two years ago.

Anyway, name aside, the Touch Cruise is an elegant handset that comes with many features, as well as with HTC Footprints, a new development from HTC.

What’s Footprints all about? I’ll let HTC speak for itself:

It’s an application experience that enables people to permanently chronicle their special moments by capturing a digital postcard on their phone. Once captured, Footprints provides the ability to take notes and an audio clip of that favorite restaurant or special place while identifying its specific geographical location. In addition to identifying each postcard with its specific GPS co-ordinates, Footprints also auto-names each postcard with its general location or area.

And here’s the new Touch Cruise in all its glory:

The handset’s full list of specs and features includes:

  • Quad band GSM connectivity (850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz)
  • Dual band HSDPA connectivity (900 / 2100 MHz) for data transfer speeds of up to 7.2 Mbps
