By fear Liszewski

I participate singable toys crapper impart pretty galling for parents, but I’m selection to countenance this ‘Original Sound Track’ behave fashioned by Ricardo Seola would calibre to kids and adults alike. It’s composed of a wooden modular road grouping awninged in strategically positioned bumps, and a wind-up container that features a equal harp, aforementioned those used in penalization boxes, on the front. As the automobile rolls around the track, the metal set on the ingeminate effect the bumps and every layout produces a unequalled singable composition.

I’ve included a recording of it ‘in action’ after the jump, but since it’s ease a methodicalness create that’s hopefully agitated into production, the full abstract is a discernment rendery. But you impart a beatific aim of how it works.

Super Game Boy Commander Controller Designed For Use With The SNES Super Game Boy

Super Gameboy Commander for Super Famicom (Image courtesy NCSX)
By Andrew Liszewski

Back in the day you could buy a special cartridge for your Super Nintendo known as the ‘Super Game Boy‘ that allowed you to play Game Boy titles on your TV. But apparently someone felt that using the Super Nintendo’s controller for a Game Boy game was just too confusing, which led to the creation of this bizarre accessory known as the Super Gameboy Commander. Eagle-eyed readers will notice that it has the same button layout as the Game Boy did, with a few extra ones allowing you to also play Super Nintendo (or Super Famicom) titles with it.

I find it hard to believe that anyone using the Super Game Boy would be jamming Tetris pieces in the wrong places because they were confused by the SNES’s control pad, and I find it even harder to believe that there would still be a market for this thing today. But believe it or not, NCSX is selling them brand new in their original boxes for $19.90.

Best Buy prepping an entry into the digital distribution game

Apparently Blu-ray sales aren’t increasing fast enough for everyone, in its ongoing plan to not pull a Circuit City, Best Buy is reportedly in talks with CinemaNow and other, unnamed, movie services about launching a digital delivery arm as early as this summer. CinemaNow is well prepared to set up online video stores for others, with Blockbuster (bad example) and Dell already on board. Variety suggests Best Buy could market and sell Internet-connected TVs and set-top boxes that include CinemaNow access, with a shared revenue stream between the two, but nothing is final. Netflix has a hit on its hands with Watch Instantly so think it over, would you give an Insignia Blu-ray player or HDTV a second look if it could download movies?

Sling’s $50 rebate on iPhone-compatible boxes rendered useless by stupid pricing

Think Sling Media is partially making up for its ridiculous arbitrary lockout of iPhones on older Slingboxes by offering a $50 credit toward the purchase of a new model? Think again: turns out that the credit is applied against prices in Sling’s own online store, which are already jacked beyond reason. Actually, they aren’t, they’re just MSRP — but let’s be honest, no one pays MSRP for anything anymore, and you can actually get the PRO-HD for less from Amazon than from Sling’s store after the frickin’ credit (and the SOLO isn’t faring much better after fast shipping, especially if you’ve got a Prime membership). It’s a pretty backhanded way to say “thanks” to your early adopters — and it’s just a shame that the iPhone version of the SlingPlayer will likely be a strong enough draw to let the company get away with murder.

Sony Announces Sleek and Pricy Titanium HD Camcorder

sonyhdrtg5v-sb

by Shane McGlaun

I think it’s great that today most camcorders don’t have to use tapes to record video. Gone are the days when you would have boxes of tapes sitting around that you had to take care of lest family vacation and birthday videos be lost forever. Today you can archive your kids whole life digitally on your computer, just be sure you back it up.

Sony has announced a new camcorder called the HDR-TG5V that is a small camcorder designed for those who travel frequently. To stand up to the damage life on the road can dish out, the camcorder has a titanium frame for strength and light weight. The camera has smile shutter and face detection along with the ability to shoot 4-megapixel still shots.

Despite being small, the camera records in full 1920 x 1080 HD resolution to 16GB of internal flash memory. When that runs out you can also store video to MemoryStick Pro memory cards. GPS is built-in allowing for geotagging. We had geotagging when I was a kid too, but that required a stop at every town we came too for my parents to take pictures in front of the city limits sign — admittedly not as elegant as the Sony design. The price for the camera may be enough to make you decide to just stop at the city limits signs too — the TG5V sells for $999.

BlackBerry Niagara 9630 OS 4.7.1 previewed: good mix of Storm and Bold features, OS 5.0 in disguise?

We know you’re hungry for some more details on the BlackBerry Niagara 9630, so here we go. Crackberry’s released the second part of its impressions with the device, this time focusing on the OS 4.7.1 that they note functions like a hybrid of the Storm’s OS 4.7 and Bold / Curve 8900’s OS 4.6. Features lovingly borrowed from the SurePress-equipped touchscreen include app switching by pushing down the menu key, trackball gestures in the photo gallery, a revised profiles menu, bubblier boxes in the options menu, and possibly a new memory manager within the media center. On their own, these all seem pretty minor, but they add up to a much more pleasant experience. Judging by the preview, it looks it’s still shaping up to be one of the best ‘berry’s you can buy. The CB crew conjecture this might actually be the upcoming OS 5.0 in disguise, judging by their similarities. We’ll find out for sure sometime in May, when we can get our hands on the phone and can check that version number ourselves.
