Appeared over at CrackBerry, the ikon shows a amount kindred to what we saw tangency mark as BlackBerry 9020.

Like the Curve 8520 (already acquirable from T-Mobile), the BlackBerry 9700 is digit of RIM’s smartphones that effect an optical trackpad instead of a trackball. Other features should allow 3G (T-Mobile’s prototypal 3G BlackBerry), a 480 x 360 pixels display, Wi-Fi, GPS, and (of course) a QWERTY keyboard.

Sprint launching the BlackBerry Tour on July 12 too

Less than one day after Verizon announced the release date of its BlackBerry Tour 9630, Sprint has now also confirmed (via its Twitter account)  that it will launch the new RIM smartphone on July 12 as well – online and through telesales for the beginning.

Unsurprisingly, Sprint will sell the Tour for the same price as Verizon: $199.99 on contract, probably after a $100 rebate.

Announced by Research in Motion on June 16, BlackBerry Tour 9630 is a global smartphone, having both GSM and CDMA/EV-DO connectivity. The device looks like a mix between the Bold and the Curve 8900 – and that’s obviously a good thing.

The Tour will come with features like: a 480 x 360 pixels display, full QWERTY keyboard, GPS, 3.5mm headset jack and a 3.2MP camera.

Canada will also get the Tour this summer, as Bell is getting ready to release it on July 15 – or maybe a bit later.

T-Mobile UK announces Pay Once for BlackBerry

Remember that T-Mobile BlackBerry event that was scheduled for April 22 in London? Well, it turns out that the event wasn’t related to the launch of a new smartphone, as we initially thought.

Instead, T-Mobile UK and RIM have announced a new way to pay for a BlackBerry device, called Pay Once.

Starting May 1, T-Mo’s customers in the UK will be able to buy a silver BlackBerry Pearl 8110 for £179.99 (€200 or $260), without having to sign a contract agreement.

The price includes, besides the Pearl 8110 smartphone itself, one year of unlimited email and Internet and “pay as you go top-ups for calls, texts and MMS”.

blackberry-8110-t-mobile

All in all, the Pay Once deal is definitely not a bad one for those who don’t need a more advanced BlackBerry (like the Curve 8900), or for those who are new to RIM’s devices.

Crapgadget: Why are you doing this to us, Spider-phone?

We can’t tell if this is an insane piece of crap or completely awesome. Spider-phone appears to be a new item, albeit pretty far behind the Spider-man product curve — but, you know — whatever. Regardless, it’s got all the hallmarks of a finely crafted attempt to cash in on Peter Parker’s alter ego… the webs, the webs, not to mention the fact that Tobey Maguire’s on the box! This rad GSM piece boasts a 2 megapixel camera, a microSD slot, and a color swivel display. It’s available in Hong Kong for HK$1180 (about US$152). Up next: a NewGoblin-phone with Franco napping on the box? We sure hope so! Check out a few more shots after the break.

PrimeTime2Go brings full-length TV episodes to BlackBerry Bold, Curve 8900

Ah, so the rumors were true. As BlackBerry App World descends upon the masses today, a particularly unique service is launching alongside of it: QuickPlay Media’s PrimeTime2Go. Unlike options from Sprint and AT&T, this alternative delivers video only over WiFi, though this arrangement does enable it to work on all carriers. The app will bring full-length television shows to certain BlackBerry smartphones, and with deals inked with NBC, CBS and MTV, we’d say the selection should be pretty good. As for details, it’ll run users $7.99 per month, though it will only operate (initially, at least) on the BlackBerry Bold and Curve 8900, sold by AT&T and T-Mobile, respectively. So, is this the break that mobile TV has been waiting for? Or is this yet another option that better get used to being shunned?
