LEGO had a evenhandedly decent-sized booth at this year’s CES display hard their slightly-delayed LEGO Universe mettlesome which module eventually be free sometime this year. And sure, activity around in their bricktastic online MMOG was fun, but LEGO, you had me at “Build your possess minifig!” And accept me feature thanks for not strictly enforcing that “One minifig per person” limit.

Incredible as it sounds, it looks like Nintendo isn’t planning on slashing the price of the console it can still barely keep on store shelves. That word comes straight from Nintendo president Satoru Iwata, who’s attempting to clamp down on recent speculation that a Wii price cut could be in the offing, which seemed at least a tad more plausible considering that the manufacturing costs for the console have supposedly dropped significantly since its launch. According to Iwata, rather than trying to drive up sales numbers even further with a price cut, Nintendo will instead be putting “more energy and time into making better entertainment so that our products are going to remain in the top position in our customer’s wish lists” — and now with Disc Dog, in the top position in our hearts.

iriver came clean with its D50N e-dictionary / MID back at CES, but it’s taken until now for the company to host up a proper teaser site with all the details (in Korean, naturally). The beautiful handheld boasts a 4.8-inch 800 x 480 resolution display, 16GB of internal storage space, 802.11b/g WiFi, support for a whole litany of files, a microSD expansion slot, full QWERTY keyboard and a battery good for up to 16 hours of music playback (or 8 hours of video). Reportedly, the price on this one is pegged at around $370, but we’re no closer to finding out when it’ll ship to the states.

The T10 seems to acquit itself quite well on the design front up against folks like the iPhone 3G and the PSP, but we’ll have to wait and see if that generic interface will make this PMP worth having.

There aren’t terribly many surprises in the latest roadmap docs leaked out of Sprint, but there are a couple — and we finally have some target launch windows around a few of the more anticipates devices we’ve been expecting this year. Perhaps least surprisingly, the Palm P100 — that’s the Pre for you lay folk — is still on track for the second quarter of the year, which could mean anything between April and June. Staying in the landscape QWERTY smartphone realm, we’ll see the HTC Cedar (or Willow, depending on which slide you’re looking at) and a new Samsung Ace — creatively named the Ace II — in the second and third quarters, respectively. The landscape HTC Rhodium will likely replace the Touch Pro in the third quarter, and the hotly (and we do mean hotly) anticipated BlackBerry Niagara will be hitting in the same three-month period.
Things are getting interesting down in the dumbphone realm, too, with both the Instinct Mini and a true Instinct successor — the Dash with an HVGA display — in the pipe. The Sanyo 2700, dual-slide Samsung Cello, and the Samsung Chianti (which looks suspiciously like a Propel) will all follow the Rumor 2 down the text-centric path, and a handful of new ultra-basic devices will fill in the bottom of the range. For data, Sprint will be launching Novatel’s totally awesome MiFi portable hotspot, which warms our hearts. What doesn’t warm our hearts is the utter void of Android devices here — but we can hold out hope, and as always, all of this is subject to change. Stay tuned!

Samsung’s devilishly cute HMX-R10 camcorder stole the hearts of many at CES, but ever since, we’ve been aimlessly wandering about Sammy’s website attempting to locate clues on pricing and availability. Thankfully, it seems some answers are starting to surface, and we’ve only got a month or so before we discover whether these whispers were laced in truth. Reportedly, this pocket-friendly high-def camcorder will be hitting UK streets next month, with early estimates pegging the price at $550. We’re told that Americans may have to wait until sometime this summer before they too can indulge, but at least the Britons will be able to test it out beforehand and give you a little heart-to-heart buying advice.

Uh oh, Tesla — it looks Fisker’s joining the battle for the hearts of Californian electric sports-car buyers in style. The carmaker has started running ads for the Karma on LA TV stations, and while the first one out the gate is certainly effective in showing off the coupe’s sexy lines, it’s not exactly mindblowing — we’re pretty certain this would be equally effective in advertising a local technical college with just a few tweaks.
