These ‘Bitosan Ke’ figures, for example, feature a some strands of noise multiple touchable look hairs sticking discover of their nostrils, and when pulled or grazed they impart the case to speak. Now since the toys module be free in Nihon (6 assorted characters acquirable for 892 Yen or most $10 each) they’ll apparently intercommunicate Japanese, but roughly translated the phrases seem to either encourage you or advise you from impinging their hairs. What could be more fun?!

Of course if you don’t want to spend your entire afternoon walking, you could try using this Bicycle Golf Caddy.

This rather simple device hooks up to just about any bike, and carries your clubs along behind you. It seems rather simple to setup, and even collapses to make storage easier. At $200 it’s a bit pricey, but now when you’re getting beat on the course, you can remind your friends that at least you’re not destroying the environment my driving around some electric cart all day.

Video: iPhone OS 3.0 walkthrough

Many of us — okay, a small handful of us — wouldn’t dream of putting beta firmware on our day-to-day devices, so we wanted to treat that very special group of safety-minded individuals to a once-over with iPhone OS 3.0’s finer points on video. Odds are this is about as close as they’ll get to the goods until Apple blesses the binary a few months from now, after all, and there’s no harm in living vicariously through an Engadget editor’s load-firmware-first, ask-questions-later lifestyle — trust us. Video after the break.

Robotrains take over NY’s Brooklyn-Manhattan line under careful watch of human conductor overlords

If you ride the L train between Brooklyn and Manhattan at odd hours of the day, get ready for a little more automation in your lifestyle. As of today, the L will become the first NY subway line to be fully controlled by Communications Based Train Control, or CBTC, initially used overnights and during non-peak hours. It allows the trains to effectively run themselves, closer and faster than their meatbag conductors could otherwise, which should mean more trains more often. However, those fleshy workers have something their robotic replacements don’t: contracts. Because of that there will still be humans watching the controls and, we’d imagine, napping occasionally. At least they’re not striking.

Sanyo announced a plethora of “dual camera” models (camcorders with still capture aspirations) just yesterday, and Geek.com’s Chris Gampat was lucky enough to get a little hands on time with the lot, choosing three favorites: the VPC-FH1, VPC-HD2000, and VPC-WH1. The first two are similar in terms of specs, both capturing 1080p video at 60fps and 8 megapixel stills at 12fps through a 10x optical zoom. They differ only in form factor, the VPC-FH1 offering a traditional style and the VPC-HD2000 coming with a pistol grip. Then there’s the more daring VPCP-WH1, waterproof down to 10 feet and coming in a “look at me, sailor” yellow, but only shooting 720p video at 30fps and 2 megapixel stills. However, its 30x optical zoom is perfect for spotting Piping Plovers, and the 3.5 hour battery life means this thing can probably survive longer underwater than you. Videos of these three are below, and surely one them fits your lifestyle, so make a little room this spring, won’t you?

Google Searches Most Likely Not Destroying World

google

By Evan Ackerman

Last week, a Harvard researcher estimated that every time you look for something on Google, it produces 7 grams of CO2. This is about the same amount of CO2 as is expended by the amount of energy it takes to boil a kettle of water. The report also included other scary numbers, like even looking at a web page is polluting the environment at the rate of 0.2 grams of CO2 per second.

I suppose maybe the point of all this is to raise awareness about the impact of technology on the environment or something, but really, what are we supposed to do? Just breathing produces something like 0.01 grams of CO2 per second. OMG EVERYBODY PANIC! Really, though, you have to think about these numbers in larger context rather than freaking out about them. When was the last time you looked for something in the yellow pages, for example? Or spent time on the phone asking for directions to places? Or traveled to different stores to compare prices on things?

There’s no denying that services like Google specifically, and computers in general, suck up power and to some extent aren’t great for the environment. But just about everything short of planting a tree isn’t great for the environment… The important thing is to be generally aware of the impact of your lifestyle, and try to mitigate things where possible. And sometimes services like Google can help you with that, by enabling you to locate information faster and more efficiently.

So, don’t freak out, and click here. You’ll feel a little better.

Hyundai Mobile enters the UK market, plans to launch about 10 new handsets

When you think about Hyundai, it’s probably a car that first comes into your mind. But the South Korean company also produces mobile phones and has a telecommunications arm, unsurprisingly called Hyundai Mobile.

At the moment, Hyundai Mobile is present in only few Asian and European countries, but this will probably change pretty soon. The company announced its intention to roll out services and phones in the UK, during the first half of 2009.

Apparently, the first handset to be released is a Windows Mobile one, called Hyundai Blighty. After it, about ten other devices will be launched in the UK by the end of the year.

The devices will be part of four categories: Basic, Lifestyle, Music and Innovation.

(this is Hyundai MP880, a phone that’s on sale in Hong Kong)

(this is Hyundai MB400 and, despite its iPod-like design, it’s a phone)

Hyundai Mobile indents to conquer about 3 to 5 percent of the UK mobile market in the next five years. A Hyundai Mobile UK website is already launched, but it’s under construction for the moment.
