I used to try to carry a flash drive with me when I had a real job and actually left the house on occasion. More often than not, I left it at home because I forgot to pick it up and put it in my pocket. I tried a small flash drive that could fit in my wallet once, but it was too thick and made sitting uncomfortable.

A company called TopTech Products has announced a new flash drive that is shaped like a credit card and appears thin enough to not be a pain in the rear when sitting. The drive measures 3.4-inches x 2.1-inches x 0.11-inches.

It has 4GB of storage space and supports Linux, Windows, and Mac computers with USB 2.0 or 1.1 ports available. Several colors are available including clear, gray, orange, red, and blue. Businesses wanting to give them away as promotional items can get custom logos on the drives as well. Consumers can buy the drive on Amazon for $24.99.

Believe it or not, the Game Boy is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, and to commemorate the occasion, Technologizer has put together a list of some of the weirdest accessories, variations and tributes to the most popular handheld gaming device of all time. But I’m pretty sure the PediSedate takes the birthday cake. It was designed to distract kids in a doctor’s or dentist’s office while they were being sedated with nitrous oxide. Now I’m pretty sure being asked to wear a headset like that wouldn’t make my visit to the dentist any more enjoyable, but I have to admit, if you stuck a copy of Link’s Awakening in my hands, you could gas me with anything you wanted.

Considering just how cheap Dell’s Inspiron Mini 9 gets on occasion, there’s practically no doubt that the SSD portion of this mod will run you more than the computer itself. For those wild and wacky DIYers who couldn’t honestly care less, jkkmobile has put together a video (along with a gallery of images) showing exactly how the process works. For what it’s worth, we’re told that the whole ordeal was a simple matter, but you can judge for yourself after jumping past the break and mashing play.

We’ve spent some time with Windows 7 Beta’s new touch and multitouch features this week, and came away largely disappointed. It’s not that they don’t work, at least on occasion, it’s that they don’t really provide a comprehensive or pleasurable method for using a computer. The primary enhancements to the OS that really make touch usage possible include a taller taskbar, pinch to zoom and tap-and-drag scrolling. There’s a fancy new onscreen keyboard that’s actually usable, and those quick-swipe gestures from Vista remain for forward, back, copy, paste, undo and redo.
