Thanks to a slip of the fingers on Posterous (and Robert Scoble’s serious Twitter addiction), new images of Michael Arrington’s pet Internet-tablet project — the CrunchPad — have shown up looking very, very close to a finished product. As you can see in the gallery below, the (supposedly) $200, WiFi enabled pad has gotten dressed up in multiple colors and been shoved into some fairly handsome looking packaging. There’s no telling if this means the device is any closer to a buy-able reality, but one thing is for sure: a microblog is no place for secrets.

Yeah, we already heard that Dell’s Phenom II-equipped XPS 625 was a solid value, but what does that really mean? The testing fiends over at HotHardware sought to find out, and after putting this gaming beast through more tests than it ever wanted to endure, they mirrored most of the earlier (positive) sentiments. In fact, it was found to boast one of the best price-to-performance ratios out there, and the “minimalist” software installation definitely earned brownie points in our book. One thing that bothered critics, however, was the excessive amount of noise. We too have noticed that Dell’s ginormous XPS towers — which, by the way, reviewers also found to be unnecessarily heavy and unwieldy — can emit some serious decibels under heavy loads, but you’d think the engineers in Round Rock would’ve figured out a solution by now. Still, those quirks are probably small hassles to deal with given the savings compared to similar rigs, but we’d highly recommend digging into the read link just to be sure.

At least on this Gregorian calender sitting here in the office, March 1st is still a few days off. True though that may be, it hasn’t stopped at least one LX9600 (or Versa, if you prefer) from getting unboxed from its Verizon Wireless packaging. There’s no indication of what truck this fell off of, nor if these phones may actually go on sale a few days early, but one thing’s for sure — this unboxer definitely did the honors in a high school cafeteria. Classy, no?

It’s been a few years since Samsung unleashed its 10 megapixel cameraphone onto the world. Now we’re hearing that Samsung will push the limits of absurdity to a full 12 megapixels “this month,” likely at Mobile World Congress. The phone is expected to hit the production lines in February with a European debut shortly thereafter. No details are provided other than the picture above used (but not attributed) by Unwired View. If this is the unannounced phone then we can obviously expect GPS geotagging, DivX video capture, and WiFi with DLNA support. One thing is clear: Samsung thinks that Europeans are pixel braggarts with little concern for image quality.

Update: Nope, that image is just a Photoshop of an 8 megapixel Innov8 — still, we wouldn’t be surprised to see the same feature set and industrial design in a 12 megapixel handset.

For the longest time now, we were under the impression that it was men looking for miraculous ways of understanding woman. Clearly, we’ve had the whole thing backwards. Bandai has apparently polled thousands of opinionated males in order to fill its latest handheld with data that woman aged 20 to 30 will pay ¥2,499 ($28) to know. In all seriousness, we can’t imagine this thing having a very good search mechanism, so its actual usefulness is definitely questionable. One thing’s for sure, though — handing one of these to your SO / ex-lover with a smirk is guaranteed to get a rise.
