Sony Ericsson Bao flip phone shows up

We saw the Sony Ericsson Xperia Rachael and Kiki over the week-end, and now it’s time for yet another new, unannounced SE phone: the Sony Ericsson Bao.

The Bao is a clamshell that has an interesting design, looking a bit like a handset from Nokia’s Prism line-up.

Details about the features of Sony Ericsson Bao are completely inexistent, but we can see that the phone has a photo camera – and probably a hidden external display too.

Here’s the new handset in all its glory – if we can call it like this (images found at the Esato Forum):

WM 6.5 HTC Firestone shows up again

Remember the HTC Firestone? Several months ago, the smartphone appeared alongside Whitestone, Thoth and other unannounced HTC handsets.

Well, today we have what seems to be the first clear render of the Firestone.

The smartphone should come as the successor of HTC Touch HD, so it has a similar design. It will run on Windows Mobile 6.5, featuring a large 3.6 inch WQVGA display, a 600Mhz processor, 256MB RAM, 512 MB ROM and an 8MP photo camera – the first HTC device to have such a camera.

Of course, the image below might actually be a fake – despite the fact that the Thai website Hi-Tech says it’s authentic. Anyway, we’re guessing that the real HTC Firestone isn’t too different.

According to previously leaked details, HTC Firestone will be announced sometime in August. Let’s hope it won’t be to pricey.

New iPhones to come with 3.2MP, 5MP cameras?

The iPhone 3G may be a high-end device, but, you have to admit it, its 2MP photo camera is similar to the cameras found in many entry-level phones today.

However, the new, third-generation iPhone, may come with a 3.2 Megapixel camera.

Or at least that’s what DigiTimes says. The Taiwanese website reports that OmniVision Technologies will be making the 3.2MP CMOS cameras Apple plans to put in its new iPhone.

Even more, it’s said Apple also landed orders for a 5 Megapixel camera that will be used in “another product expected to be launched later in the year”.

iphone-32-megapixel
Could this mean we’ll see two new iPhones in 2009? Maybe an iPhone Nano alongside the successor of iPhone 3G? Or perhaps that 5MP camera will be used in a new iPod touch?

Well, no one knows for sure, but we can hope at least a 3.2 MP camera will be included in the new iPhone(s) – and that it will have both autofocus and flash :)
