I have to agree with the chaps at the Red Ferret Journal when it comes to this Spy Shaver Camera. No one on Earth, not even a bona fide spy, has any use for a video camera hidden inside a razer.

Seriously though, are you going to whip this thing out in the middle of a confidential meeting and start subtly shaving so that no one suspects you’re videotaping the proceedings? Or maybe you’ll fool the ushers at the local cinema into thinking that you aren’t actually trying to make a pirate copy of Transformers 2, but just felt that your 5 o’clock shadow had to go right then and there? I mean the Omejo website even has the audacity to say this thing is ideal for CIA agents, spy agencies and the police.

Anyways, the razer captures video at 640×480 to an AVI file and can continuously record to its 4GB of on-board flash memory until it’s full. The rechargeable battery is supposedly good for about 7-8 hours, though it’s not mentioned if that includes time spent shaving, or even if the razer portion actually works. (I assume not.)

The best part though is that this thing will set you back a ridiculous $240.

With DS sales continuing their astronomical climb and people still snagging Wii consoles off of shelves faster than you can say: “Your princess is in another castle,” Nintendo’s doing pretty well for itself in these difficult economic times. It’s doing even better today on news that the lawsuit filed against it two years ago by Fenner Investments has been dismissed. The suit alleged that Nintendo inappropriately infringed on a 1998 patent relating to the monitoring of the position of analog joysticks in the Wii and GameCube. Since the company has been using analog sticks at least since 1996’s N64, we didn’t think this one would go far, and we don’t think the proceedings against MS or Sony regarding the same patent will go any further. So, big N can now go back to focusing on other lawsuits and dreaming up new ways to take our hard earned cash.

Apparently, the Photosynth glitching and iPhone-like GPS blip on CNN weren’t the only high tech actions in play at President Obama’s inauguration yesterday. According to one of our favorite daily reads, Officer.com, the Prez was wearing “bullet-resistant clothing,” which experts (and sci-fi fanatics) are taking to mean a bullet-proof suit. The folks over at Slate speculate that he might have been adorned in an outfit manufactured by MIguel Caballero, a Colombian company that specializes in bullet-resistant gear like leather jackets, windbreakers, and yes… ruffled tuxedo shirts. We’d like to imagine that stuffed into the pocket of that handsome outfit he was sporting was a Kevlar handkerchief — but listen up Obama: Sasha and Malia are not going to be down with that bulletproof backpack.

After it went on sale in Europe yesterday, we figured that it could only be a matter of minutes before someone got their hands on one of HP’s Compaq Mini 700s. Netbook News has gotten the job done and they’ve kindly filmed the proceedings. In case you’ve forgotten, the £399 ($594) netbook is the same as the Mini 1000 sold Stateside, boasting 1.6GHz Atom CPU and a 10.2-inch 1024 x 600 panel.
