Nokia 3720 classic, the company’s “most rugged mobile handset to date”, is now finally official, coming with entry-level features and a very attractive retail price.

Picking a rather unusual day to announce new phones, Samsung officially came out with four low-to-mid-range handsets to balance out the recent emphasis the company has had on smartphones (Samsung Jet, for instance).

All of these phones we’ve seen before, either at trade shows or through leaked live pics. The S6700 and C5510 are two sliders; we’ve also seen the Samsung M2310 and the  Samsung M2510.

Samsung M2310

Music oriented, much like BeatDJ.

• 120MB of internal memory

Samsung C5510

The C5510 has a 2.2 inch screen with resolution of 240 x 320 pixels and can support as much as 16GB in added memory with its microSD slot, and offers a 2MP fixed-focus camera.

The C5510 also offers:

• Quad-band GSM connectivity
• Music player
• FM radio with RDS

So, not much in the shocker category, but these could be some great phones to consider if you’re not in the market for a smartphone. No word on pricing or availability yet, but we assume sometime later this summer.

O2 UK has just announced that it will offer the LG Cookie KP500 in an exclusive white version, this coming shortly after Orange UK unveiled its (also exclusive) LG Cookie KP501 in pink.

O2’s Cookie is not fully covered in white, as it also has a metallic blue rim – but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t look good. 

Launched by LG as one of the most affordable touchscreen handsets in the world, LG Cookie features, among others: a 240 x 400 pixels display, a 3.2MP camera, Bluetooth with A2DP, Music player, FM radio with RDS and document viewer. 

O2 doesn’t say when the white Cookie will actually be available, but it mentions that “soon” you’ll be able to get it for £99.99 on Pay & Go – this meaning it’s free of any contract agreement.

Lookie here — we’ve got yet another new entrant into the portable navigation market, but thankfully, Cydle has decided to differentiate a bit with the inclusion of HD Radio support. The company’s one and only model (for now, anyway) is the T43, which features a 4.3-inch touchscreen, the latest version of Cydle 3D Map and Cydle XE Map, HD Radio support, real-time traffic via the traditional RDS-TMC as well as the newer HD Radio-based method and Bluetooth for good measure. It’ll reportedly hit Best Buy shelves in the not-too-distant future, though there’s no price mentioned.

After announcing the C510 and W508, Sony Ericsson has also unveiled a new phone exclusively made for Vodafone: Sony Ericsson W715.

Well, maybe “new phone” isn’t well said, since the handset is actually an updated version of the W705, which was announced in November 2008.

Unlike the W705, Vodafone’s Sony Ericsson W715 features GPS, thus being able to provide turn-by-turn pedestrian and driving navigation, via Vodafone Find&Go.

Also, the slider offers “seamless integration with Vodafone’s Music services”.

W715’s full list of features ands specs include:
