Alright, this one’s pure tradeshow silliness — when Engadget Spanish pressed the Acer rep at MWC about rumored plans to launch an Android handset, dude pulled out a notebook and whipped up a quick product roadmap, including the two mysterious “Android secret models” shown here. That’s all we know for now, but anything’s got to be better than the sad Tempos Acer launched yesterday — and hey, we also got the names of the four announced-but-not-revealed sets we’re due to see sometime later this year. It looks like Transcend is intent on keeping everyone happy with its latest batch of portable hard drives, with the company rolling out both SSD and regular hard drive-based models. The SSD drives come in the form of the SSD18M, which boasts a glossy finish with built-in fingerprint capturing technology, eSATA and USB 2.0 interface options, and your choice of 32GB, 64GB, or 128GB capacities. The 2.5-inch StoreJet 25F, on the other hand, is apparently only available in an “astonishing” 500GB capacity, and only includes an USB 2.0 interface, along with Transcend’s StoreJet data management software and, of course, that same glossy finish. No word on a price, but both are apparently available now if you’re able to track ‘em down.

After it went on sale in Europe yesterday, we figured that it could only be a matter of minutes before someone got their hands on one of HP’s Compaq Mini 700s. Netbook News has gotten the job done and they’ve kindly filmed the proceedings. In case you’ve forgotten, the £399 ($594) netbook is the same as the Mini 1000 sold Stateside, boasting 1.6GHz Atom CPU and a 10.2-inch 1024 x 600 panel. Since hearing about Nokia’s foray into the world of home automation, our curiosity has been seriously piqued. Thankfully, our girl-on-the-scene Drita has captured video of the new software / hardware combo in action on the Nokia World show floor. It looks like a fully decked out system is going to run you a hefty fee (given all the components required), but can you put a price on the extreme laziness it will enable? We didn’t think so.
