When I hear the name GE, digital cameras are not what spring to mind. I think of light bulbs really. Still GE has a full line of digital cameras and other stuff that doesn’t have to do with lighting our homes.

The company announced its latest digital camera recently called the E1250TW. The cam sports a 12.2-megapixel resolution and a 28mm wide angle lens with 5x optical zoom. The most interesting feature of the camera is that the 3-inch LCD is touch sensitive.

Other features include auto scene detection HDTV out, face detection, blink detection, smile detection, an auto adjust LCD, and red-eye removal. A special mode allows users to shoot panoramic images as well. The camera is available now on HSN and on Amazon.com.

We’re generally downright Ludditic when it comes to our music (we like it loud and bratty — and no backing tapes, please) but one can’t help but get a little giddy when confronted with a guitar that does, you know, other stuff. Matt Bellamy’s Manson MB-1 signature is not only a respectable ax in its own right, but it also features an X-Y controller (think Korg Kaoss Pad) for two dimensional control of damn near any FX plug-in you can get your hands on. Available in “Matt Black” and “Red Sparkle,” this bad boy starts at £2,999 (that’s almost $4,400, folks). But what do you expect for what Music Radar has termed “easily the most technologically advanced signature guitar on the planet?” Or you could just buy a Kaoss Pad and shove it in your Les Paul. It looks like that day might be close at hand — according to these purloined slides, a little something called the ATI Radeon HD 4770 is due to make the scene next month in the $99 price point. This handsome lad sports GDDR5 memory, DirectX 10.1 support, a 750 MHz clock speed, a memory clock of 800 MHz using a 128-bit memory bus, a frame buffer size of 512 MB, and much, much more. Curious? There hasn’t exactly been a rush to flood the market with Nintendo DS-based GPS mods over the years — and when we have seen them, they’ve been largely DIY affairs. Looking to fill a niche that most reasonable folks assume does not exist, GBalpha has announced the upcoming release of Ranger, its new touchscreen solution for those of you wishing to saddle your handheld with navigation duties. If you’re curious, this bad boy sports a u-blox GPS module, 32MB extended memory, Google Earth map integration, and optional Mandarin and Cantonese voice prompts. Are you stoked? What if we gave you a price and a way to order it? Well, we can’t do that for you. Sadly, large swaths of the product website are mum on those details.

Sometimes you can’t beat the classics. The gentleman who brought his old NES Advantage to bear on his Xbox 360 is back, this time working his magic on the Super Advantage joystick. This bad boy is wireless, runs off an internal battery (charged via standard USB), and sports an LED player indicator. If you’ve never been able to get used to the standard Xbox controller, keep an eye out for this bad boy on eBay. The modster in question has stated his intention to let this one go to the right bidder, but not before he makes another one for himself. The next trick, he says, is to add cross-platform compatibility with the Wii and SNES. Video after the break.

Thought 720p output from a PMP was impressive? Try 1080i on for size. Yes, Cube has seemingly one-upped itself, introducing a new PMP called the H100HD that, like its predecessor, sports a 5-inch LCD and support for a variety of video and audio formats, but adds in an FM tuner, support for simple Flash games, and another step up the HD resolution ladder, all in a package that’s a bit more svelte than before. And yes, it still does 720p output for those progressive types. No information on price yet, but since the last one sold for under $75 don’t expect it to break the bank — also don’t expect it to show up at whatever electronics retailers are still in business where you are.

I can understand why some users would be interested in multimedia notebooks. The machines tend to be feature packed, have good graphics, and be able to play movies while you are on the go. The downside to the class of machines is that they are usually expensive and can be very large.

Acer has announced a new multimedia computer called the Acer Aspire 8935G. Some specifications of the machine are not announced at this time. What we do know is that the machine will use Intel Core 2 Duo CPUs, run Windows Vista Home Premium, and sports a massive 18.4-inch LCD.

The LCD has 1920 x 1080p resolution and a Blu-ray burner is built-in to take advantage of that resolution. Other features include an 8-cell battery, backlit keyboard, graphics via ATI Radeon HD 4670 and more. The downside is that the machine is massive weighing in at 10.1 pounds. The 8935G is set to launch in June at unspecified pricing.
