FCC unveils the ZTE Vodafone 545

Vodafone module presently move a infant good prefabricated by ZTE (which also prefabricated the MTV-branded F870E), named Vodafone 545.

The 545 has foregather been authorised by the FCC, and we crapper gaming that it has the appearance of a QWERTY-equipped smartphone – although, for some reason, it exclusive features an alphamerical keyboard and it’s belike not a smartphone.

The infant good comes with a genre designate (of uncharted resolution), GSM/GPRS/EDGE connectivity, Opera Mini, Bluetooth, Music player, Video player, FM radio, 1.3MP camera, MicroSD bill hold and a built-in torch.

Exploding iPod touch sets kid’s pants on fire, melts his underwear, causes untold emotional pain

An Ohio mom is filing a lawsuit against Apple on behalf of her son, whose “iTouch” popped in his pocket and proceeded to torch his pants. He had to be treated for second degree burns on his leg, had a hole burnt through his pants pocket and got an underwear melting to top it all off. Also, according to the lawsuit, “He continues to suffer from both physical and mental conditions which will cause him to suffer pain, mental distress, emotional distress, and otherwise for the rest of his life.” Poor kid! In addition to Apple, the lawsuit seemingly randomly names 10 Apple retail employees, and wants $150,000 and attorney fees in damages. While we’ve seen a couple burnt charging cables of late, this is the first we’ve heard of an iPod touch “popping,” and it’s especially odd because the lawsuit claims the iPod was turned off at the time of the incident. Whether or not that’s true, we’ll be certainly keeping an eye on a trend developing here. When it comes to our children, burning pants are everyone’s business.

Motorola Inferno to be released soon as Motorola Torch by Verizon?

Motorola Inferno is one of those Moto handsets that leaked at the end of last year with Verizon written all over them.

Now word on the street is that the Inferno will actually be called Motorola Torch. Even more, BGR says that Verizon will begin hardware trials with the Inferno / Torch as early as next month.

Of course, that doesn’t mean the handset will be released next month, but it’s a sign that it shouldn’t take long until this happens.

The new Inferno / Torch seems to be the successor of Moto Krave ZN4, thus it might also be referred to as Krave 2 or Blaze 2.

Unfortunately, there’s no info about the features the new flip phone has, but it’s said that what we can see in the above image doesn’t actually represents the real handset, as Moto has made some changes in its design.

Now we can only hope that we’ll be blown away when Verizon and Motorola decide to officially launch the device.

Dropping half a grand on a replica lightsaber from a company like Master Replicas isn’t for everyone, but if you’ve got a Star Wars itch to scratch this cheap lightsaber flashlight could do the trick. It’s a full size replica of Anakin Skywalker’s lightsaber, but instead of a blade, it’s got four blue LEDs on the end allowing it to be used as a flashlight. (Or however you see fit to use it.) It also plays authentic lightsaber sound effects when turned on and off, but you’re welcome to ad-lib your own, and instead of ‘focusing crystals’ it’s powered by 3 AAA batteries. So just skip all that Jedi training crap and head over to Play.com where you can pick one up for about $14.

Flashlights are the sort of things that pretty much just sit around on a shelf or in a drawer until they are needed. This is usually inconvenient when the lights go out, but who really wants to stare at a boring old flashlight all the time? Well I think it’s time that we start making flashlights that also function as art. It seems that I’m not the first to come up with such an idea.

This Transformative Robot LED Torch/Nightlight almost looks like some sort of action figure or toy, but don’t let that fool you. While this might look like some sort of vicious creature, it is actually just a flashlight that’s meant to look a little different. I wouldn’t mind having one of these sitting out on my desk, honestly. You can pick one of these up for around $20 (but they’re on sale for $10 until Sunday).
