USB weirdness often seems to show up in groups, and today’s examples are no exception. What I like to do is try and picture how it would look if you were to combine weird USB things into one ÜberSB monstrosity, and this combo is particularly bizarre:

It’s a USB cow with fluffy tentacles and 8 gigs of storage! Totally worth the hour it took me to photoshop. Totally.

The CowCow USB Hub comes in four colors, two of which are not found in nature, and when you plug it into a USB port, it will sound “3 cow calls.” Moo, moo, moo. $12.

The Cat Tail USB Memory Stick Tail has a capacity of 2 gigs, and is made to order in Japan for about $55. Don’t worry, though, the Cat Tail isn’t made from an actual cat.

I mean, of course not.

Sheesh.

Instead, it’s made from mink.

Unless you have a job that requires you to be present on Saturday and Sunday, pretty much everyone looks forward to the weekend. Sure, there are those crazy people that actually enjoy their job so much that they can’t stand being away for two days, but they’re crazy. For all of the normal people that enjoy their weekend, there is the Weekend Clock.

This clock doesn’t just tell you what time it is, but lets you know how many hours, minutes and even seconds are left before your weekend. Don’t worry, if your two days off are during the week, you can still set the clock to count down to those days. It should be available sometime in the near future for around $30

As promised, we’ve made a run over to check out Viliv’s forthcoming S7 netbook tablet, bringing along the ever-popular VAIO P to see how the two stack up (as well as an Eee 1000H for good measure). As you can see, the S7 actually isn’t that much larger than the Sony, maybe 30 percent thicker and a little bit wider, but also a bit shorter. The thing manages to find room for a track pad on top of the keyboard, but it’s an awfully small one, so thank goodness for the (non-multi) touch screen. Also small is that keyboard, which is one of the most painful we’ve yet experienced on a netbook, featuring arrow and punctuation keys that even a pygmy would fat-finger. But, compromises must be made when making machines small, and small this one is. Viliv has written a custom skin that overlays the Windows XP install, demonstrated in a video below. It’s reasonably pleasant to use (minimizing the need to rely on that tiny trackpad), but is also easy to exit if you’re not feeling it. We already know the specs of this tiny convertible, so the only mysteries left are “when” followed immediately by “how much.” The answers we received to those questions are unfortunately a bit vague: “before this summer” and a rather predictable “less than the VAIO P.” We’re guessing it’ll be a lot less. Oh, and for those examining the gallery, don’t worry about the rough edges you might spy: this is a pre-production S7, so things should be a good bit more polished when it hits retail.

We’d pegged early January for the release of a pink Samsung Instinct on Sprint’s airwaves, and Best Buy’s doing everything it can to help us hold the line on that with a new “Coming Soon” page advertising just such a product. Unfortunately, they’re asking a whopping $599.99 for the pleasure of being the first kid on your block with this thing, but the off-contract pricing in Best Buy’s system is usually way out of whack — we wouldn’t worry about paying anything close to $200 on contract by the time you actually step into the store.
